Questions and Answers for customer reassurance…

Q1: What areas do you service?
A1: For your convenience, we service all pet owners from Marco Island/Isle of Capri/Gulf Coast/Naples to Estero/Bonita Beach areas in SW Florida.

Q2: Will my dog get personalized attention and care?
A2: Always! Personalized caring service is the mission of Andrea’s Dog Sitting & Walking Service. Even during dog walks, we keep the pack to a minimum; we don’t take more than 2 or 3 dogs on a semi-private (group) walk. We make sure that your dog gets along with others, and you’re always free to request individual walks if that is your preference. Our dog walkers are experienced in caring for multiple dogs, so each dog will still get showered with individual attention.

Q3: Will you pick up my dog at my home for outings or walk my dog in my neighborhood?
A3: Both, this is about accommodating your scheduling needs and answering your questions about our services. During your free meet & greet consultation, you get to see us interact with your dog and decide if we’re the right caregiver for your pet. Once you request our service, we do ask that you complete a Pet Safety Agreement and a Veterinary Release form for standard precautionary measures.

Q4: What if there is an emergency while in our care?
A4: "Andrea's Dog Sitting & Walking Service" maintains up-to-date information on 24-hour emergency animal hospitals in our service area We prepare an information file on your pet, which includes telephone numbers where you can be reached, the name of your Veterinarian, and notes on all other pertinent information that you would like us to know in case of an emergency.

Q5: How do you choose your professional handlers?
A5: Our main priority is the safety and security of our clients, your pet’s environment, and all individuals involved. All new potential hires undergo an extensive screening process including criminal background checks, personal reference checks and past employment history. We seek individuals who are experienced with animals, possess excellent customer service skills and show a true dedication to this profession. All members are trained in Pet CPR and First Aid.

Q6: Do you offer boarding?
A6: No, however, overnight pet-sitting in your home is available upon request.

Q7: My dog is aggressive towards other dogs, how many dogs go out walking in a group at one time?
A7: Dogs show signs of aggression by growling, lunging, snapping, assuming an upright posture, and/or showing their teeth. Some are aggressive out of fear, others may be territorial (particularly the working breeds). "Andrea's Dog Sitting & Walking Service" will start with an individual one-on-on walking session. We can take 1 to 3 dogs out at one time, taking into consideration each dog's personality. If your dog is not well socialized with other dogs or other people we do not recommend a group outing. An aggressive dog can be a danger to other dogs in the pack that are out to have a fun time. A professional obedience class for pet & owner may be the perfect answer to help curb unwanted behavior. Although it is always best to teach a puppy early in life the benefits of getting along with others, an older dog can be taught to make friends as well. We do not accept overly aggressive or biting dogs due to safety concerns.

Q8: When I give you my personal information, how do I know it is safe?
A8: We do not give out any personal information without your consent. We take your confidence in "Andrea’s Dog Sitting & Walking Service" very seriously and respect your privacy. All information is kept under lock and key for emergency purposes only.

Q9: Will my dog be on a leash?
A9: Yes. For the safety of your dog and the community, your dog is required to be on a leash with the exception of pre-determined safe and confined dog parks or yards. Your pet will safely explore the outdoors, make new friends, and freely exercise their leg muscles with any special instructions you may provide.

Q10: Do you only accept well-trained dogs?
A10: No. As a matter of fact, providing routine walks and exercise often help with training. Many owners have noticed improvement in their dog's behavior with our service. However, we do not accept overly aggressive biting dogs. If you are unsure regarding how your pet will respond to new friends, we can use safety muzzles as a precautionary measure until your pet feels comfortable.

Q11: My dog is very rambunctious and playful. Would he cause too much chaos to be a pack dog?
A11: No. We like our dogs to have a good time though we may need to curtail it into a private walk if it gets too wild. Private walks are available instead of group walks if that is your preference. Safety will always be our main priority.

Q12: What if my dog gets sick while under your care?
A12: Before we begin our service, we’ll always discuss a precautionary plan of action with you. If your dog does show signs of illness while under our care, we will contact you immediately and will bring your pet home or to the nearest veterinarian for proper medical treatment per your instructions. Keeping your pet happy and healthy is important to us because we treat every pet as if they’re our own. Safety instructions and agreement is planned during your free consultation.
